Am I correct about setting my monitor? I have dynamic IP.

Enter my current IP in static IP box
Check dynamic IP box
Enter DSLE DNS 66.51.206.100 in the box where I get my IP addr
Set my Netgear router to pingable from Internet.

I should see something within 1 hr and I have not seen a thing yet, except a graph with no data.

First off, I don't see where you have accepted the invite. You need to do that by clicking on the link in the invite and accept.

You shouldn't have to enter anything in the "IP from this DNS" box, I believe. I don't have anything in there on mine.

Yeah, it's weird because when I clicked on your invite I suppose to see accept or something. I see nothing.

I sent you another invite. There should be a link in the invite for you to click and take you to a page to accept.

Okay, I seem to be set up on basic monitoring along with DeeEnEs, with router set to be pingable.

One question, though...doesn't it expose your machine to a greater possibility of attack if you allow pings? Since I don't see any way to configure my LinkSys router to allow pings from specific machines, is there a way to set up line monitoring without using pings?

No there isn't a way to line monitor without using pings.

Your router can still be password protected, and will be secure. I've been doing line monitoring for a long time and have never had a problem with attacks.

No need to post results as we are not collecting anything. If you want to view other monitors in the DSLX Group, there is a link to all of them in the sidebar on the forum's front page or at the top of the page in each thread called "DSLX Monitors".

Chet, you are in the wrong forum again. Your ISP forum is »AT&T Southeast not this forum. They have their own Line Monitor Group that you can ask to join.

This forum and the Line Monitor group is for DSLX (Dsl Extreme). It is a separate ISP than AT&T.
