Re: Something new for our forum

Glad to hear that. I figured if I could figure out how to use it, then anyone could.

I'm not sure, Phil.

Did you:

1) enter static IP
2) check the 'dynamic" box

You must do both.

Are you pingable? »Tweaking FAQ

Is your router and/or firewall set up right for line monitoring? Is your router set up to accept WAN requests?»Line Monitoring FAQ

Make sure it's also set up to accept WAN requests. Also make sure you have the correct IP address in the IP box.

I just found something out last night about the line monitoring and forgot to post it.

There is no need for third party software - if your IP changes, you can always edit your monitor to reflect the new IP.

You just need to do 2 things:

1) enter static IP
2) check the "dynamic" box

You must do both.

So don't let having a dynamic IP stop you from joining in.

Invite sent to you, zbestwun2001 See Profile. You need to click on the link in the invite and the accept link. Do you have your line monitoring set up yet? If not, that should be done first to make sure it's working right. The link for our Group is in the forum's links on the front page and at top of each page in the forum. Look up -- DSLX Monitors.

Just a reminder, this thread is for signing up for line monitoring with the DSLX Group only.

I just set up my line monitoring. Will you send me an invite as well?

Then what do I do with the invite?

And, why do I need to expand my profile (regarding setup, ISP charge...)?

Thanks

Inivte sent to pace See Profile.

When you get the invite, click on the link in it and then accept on the page you are brought to.

You go to »/prefs/flair and select in the dropdown box "My home connection" and enter the info there. It will appear by your graph so that others will know what ISP you have, the advertised speed, your modem, router, etc. This information also appears on your profile page.

I'm ready for an invite.

Would be nice to use the router to update the dynamic dns instead of DeeEnEs. (WRT54GL v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c)
