Re: ZyWall 2+ firmware 4.01(XU.0) now available Well that explains it, they actually have a responsible person at the helm, vice automated bots that are sick most of the time. |

ZyHope join:2006-11-06 Minneapolis, MN | reply to dslpartner I tried to point this out earlier in the thread, but maybe I didn't make it clear. On the US site this weekend, I did see the 4.01 firmware available for download
»us.zyxel.com/web/support_downloa···13170134
But, by Sunday, when I went back to download it, it was gone. And, hasn't been back since.
So, I don't know that the www.zyxel.ch site is ahead of anything, it may just be lingering from a prior release attempt that has now been revoked from the other Zyxel sites. |

jsimmonsPremium,MVM join:2000-04-24 Falls Church, VA | reply to dslpartner I see. It is a bit confusing though. If ZyXEL posted the firmware and then pulled it right away, could possibly mean several things: 1) They jumped the gun and didn't mean to post it yet. 2) Somebody reported a "showstopper" bug and they "recalled" the fw to minimize customer problems and support issues.
So far its working fine for me. 24 hours and counting. -- "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler."- Albert Einstein |

 | reply to Brano 4.01 is now available from the FTP site for North America: »ftp://ftp.zyxel.com/ZyWALL_2_Plus/firmware/ |

tolive join:2006-10-17 Silver Spring, MD | I compared the 2 firmwares between the ZyXEL.CH one and the FTP.ZyXEL one, they are identical bit by bit. Yeah, I'm wondering too, why ZyXEL US pulled out the new firmware? I installed the new firmware on my ZyWall 2 Plus, it has being running for 2 days with no problem found. |

 | I just upgrade to 4.01 also. will let you all know how I fare. |

| reply to tolive said by tolive:Yeah, I'm wondering too, why ZyXEL US pulled out the new firmware? My *guess* is that since Zyxel is a multinational company someone on Taiwan/China can post to the ftp site and then someone in US pulls it because they haven't tested it and therefore can't answer support questions. |

jsimmonsPremium,MVM join:2000-04-24 Falls Church, VA | Upgraded to 4.01 a week ago. Uptime is 214 Hrs... No reboots since the upgrade.
BTW, I am also using it with the version of LinkLogger that supports version 4.x of ZyNOS. So far so good.
So if you want some really nice firewall logging and log analysis for your 2+, support Blake McNeil at »www.linklogger.com/download.htm#Zyxel
