opt-out DNS still redirecting to search portal

Yesterday I changed my DNS from OpenNIC to Earthlink's opt-out DNS servers, just for the speed increase, and it worked. Today these opt-out servers are redirecting my queries to their search portal. Also, their interpretation of a failed query seems to have gotten even more inclusive: **Google** searches in the Firefox Google search box are getting redirected.

I'm switching to Bway.net.
