Re: ZyWall 2+ firmware 4.01(XU.0) now available The firmware looks official enough. Not sure why it is only posted on the zyxel.ch site and not any of their other main sites. I'm not having any major issues with the older firmware, but am willing to upgrade to the new. Guess I'll give it a shot later tonight.
Update - Upgraded just fine. Did not need to reset to defaults. Will run this way and see what happens. I hate to have to re-enter all my settings, but if I do, I will

After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

I agree with you, but I think the swiss guys actually jump the gun a bit and the swiss site is being administered by a distributor and not a branch office, unless something has changed in recent years -- "Perl is executable line noise, Python is executable pseudo-code." |

ZyHope join:2006-11-06 Minneapolis, MN | reply to dslpartner I tried to point this out earlier in the thread, but maybe I didn't make it clear. On the US site this weekend, I did see the 4.01 firmware available for download
»us.zyxel.com/web/support_downloa···13170134
But, by Sunday, when I went back to download it, it was gone. And, hasn't been back since.
So, I don't know that the www.zyxel.ch site is ahead of anything, it may just be lingering from a prior release attempt that has now been revoked from the other Zyxel sites. |

jsimmonsPremium,MVM join:2000-04-24 Falls Church, VA | reply to dslpartner I see. It is a bit confusing though. If ZyXEL posted the firmware and then pulled it right away, could possibly mean several things: 1) They jumped the gun and didn't mean to post it yet. 2) Somebody reported a "showstopper" bug and they "recalled" the fw to minimize customer problems and support issues.
So far its working fine for me. 24 hours and counting. -- "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler."- Albert Einstein |
