Re: [Help] How can I determine my gas mileage? There is a good site I use to keep track of gas mileage and dollars spent on gas. Basically you just enter in data from your gas receipt and mileage on the odometer and it will keep track of it for you.

jazzy_ join:2004-01-27 Charleston, SC | reply to taurean98 I've been doing this for awhile on my 94 tracer, it averages about 35 mpg city/highway mixed driving. The car is rated at 30/38 I think so it's doing very well. |

Any tips on how to determine the actual gas mileage of your car? Driving a ford taurus 6 cyl by the way, but I'm looking for info that I could apply to any vehicle. Thanks for any assistance. What grade are you in? You have a drivers license? Your question has been answered, so I just thought I'd ask a few! -- Do the walk Zenwalk Linux 3.0 |

I got mine for $50 because the user upgraded to the new one. The thing is pretty cool and you can scan and clear codes with it. »cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCAN-GAU···ameZWDVW Here is what the old one looks like, basically same as new one but bigger and uglier. -- 8 Wired Workstations: DW6000 .74 AMC9 1410MHz on 700Kbps/128Kbps CE plan at Fort Riley, Kansas. 7 Wireless Workstations: WildBlue Beam: 31 on 1.0Mbps/200Kbps plan at Indian Springs, Nevada. |

 ToadmanHypnotoad join:2001-11-28 Ohio kudos:1 | I can give you my experiences -
96 Ford Taurus with Duratec 3.0 - 24 on highway babying it (not above 65) and about 20 city/highway mix driving
2002 Ford Taurus with Zetec 3.0 - 26 on highway babying it and about 21 city/highway mix driving.
Your experience may vary based on gas (there is a difference in gas, I like shell), driving habits, and mileage of vehicle. |

| reply to taurean98 I write the miles on the gas reciept and keep them in the armrest, every so often when I clean out my car I take them out and input it into a spreadsheet that tracks the gas millage and also keeps a total of miles and average consumption. -- Am Heimcomputer sitz' ich hier, und programmier' die Zukunft mir |

 | reply to Mospaw said by Mospaw:said by Hall:said by Mospaw: I used to calculate to the thousandth of a gallon when I realized that 17.885 MPG is pretty much the same at 17.880. You're kidding ! You used to calculate it to 3 places ?? Damn... To me, 1 place is good enough. Is it an estimate of course. Too many other variables that influence it. No joke. Actually, I had a spreadsheet set up for the car that calculated fuel costs on a per tank and ongoing average basis. That really did give me a good overview of how much fuel the car consumed. I also had calculations for insurance, maintenance and other operating costs like payment. I broke them all out on a per-mile and per-month basis along with the requisite averages. It was fun to see the different numbers, and how an oil change affected the total cost per mile of the car and so on. Maintaining the spreadsheet it was a bit of a pin, so I stopped. Yes, I'm a geek. And I thought I was the only one that 'a***'! good job, you're not the only one! |
