wifi sucks

patcat88 : Wifi was NEVER ment to be a MAN/WAN technology. Its too easily corrupted, and doesnt have enough bandwidth. It was created with the RF profile inside someone's house/room, not meaning to be strong enough to reach outside the building and enter into signal competition with other houses. Usually wifi nodes dont communicate with each other to make sure they dont interfere, plus think about all the other 2.4 ghz users. This isnt a cellular or wimax network, wifi shouldnt be used as one. The concept of relaying data from node to node to wired node is retarded for anything other than static web pages and email. Each node must have a wired connection, and preferably talk to each other on signal power and interference and handoffs, otherwise each node is only a range extender and no additional bandwidth is provided.

I hope to see these muni wifi nodes replaced with licensed spectrum or unlicensed but digital traffic-only spectrum base stations/nodes/etc.
