Algonquin, IL | Not too bad for me I have had Comcast's Powerboost for a little while now.
I have found it to be rather useful when browsing the galleries here or at places like PBase. Most images, even at full res, are under 10mb (I said most) so Powerboost works out very well for that function.
I have seen a noticed DECREASE in my upload bandwidth, but I don't' believe that is related to Powerboost.
I have the 8mb / 768 service. I have been seeing anywhere between 17 and 24 mb down during tests, but, as mentioned before that's with smaller amounts of data.
I'd have to say for the cost (free) the "upgrade" is worth it. I don't know that I'd be too happy with it if I had to pay extra for it, as, like most have seen, the "BOOST" lasts between 30 and 40 seconds. Still, not bad for the price. |
