| MicroCenter Microcenter is already offering these for $199 and $299 after a $100 store rebate. I have no doubt that the price will drop at all stores very soon. -- |- »www.lp.org/issues/issues.shtml -| |- Cato @ Liberty »www.cato-at-liberty.org/ -| |

 | Might just be a limited offer to drum up store business, taking a loss on the console sales. I have seen several other store ads hype up the Xbox 360 being available in stores, but not a word on price reductions. Also the trend on console price changes come from the home office first. Microsoft has yet to make such an announcement. |

| i doubt MicroCenter would take that severe of a price cut on a 1 year old item - it would get more business doing that on the PS3 or Nintendo Wii. To me it makes sense that they do this for the x360 because they're getting it at the lower price already. -- |- »www.lp.org/issues/issues.shtml -| |- Cato @ Liberty »www.cato-at-liberty.org/ -| |

 | I have my doubts. Of all the vendors out there I have only heard of two selling the Xbox 360 at a lower price. Maybe they got a deal with Microsoft. I don't know. Normally the price for consoles and newly released games are locked contractually, which means nobody can mess with those prices. Like I said, MS hasn't announced a price change. It seems way too early for them to do it unless sales have been very weak yearlong.
It can't be because of the PS3 since it was only released a week ago and hasn't had a chance to challenge Xbox sales. |

1 edit | I was in my neighborhood Wal-Mart Supercenter last night and saw they were selling the Xbox 360's for $291 and $380. Definitely not the $100 price cut mentioned here, but cheaper than others around here are selling them for. When I was in there a week ago they were $299 and $399. |

Plus, who the hells gonna buy a Wii for $2000? That my friend, is plain stupid. Its 1/4th the system the PS3 is. |

Rebate $100, visa rebate $100 = Premium for $199.00 + tax. Considering pulling the trigger but really want a Wii. |
