when i first started using a cell phone, i noticed that it hurt my head. seriously, i could tell that something was going on as i got a headache from using it/holding it up to my head. the pain wore off fairly quickly, but i distinctly remember the pain.

| Re: am i crazy? The old analog cell phones put out upto 3 watts at 800Mhz. Having that right next to your head on a constant basis may be questionable to your health.
Modern PCS type communication uses a fraction of the wattage, though at a higher frequency. Either way, WiFi equipment is typically feet away from the user and at a low power level.

They are based on the same technology that airplanes use (black box), so the homeland security patrol can arrest you at will. If she IS getting headaches, it's because she's probably a terrorist, and the NSA is using her home wi-fi to monitor her. John Galt is correct on the issue of alien implants.
However, Homeland Security implants are permanently attached to the viewing area on ones monitor. It functions 24/7/365, turning your monitor off, DOES NOT turn off the HLS implant, it is still "monitoring" you.
The more advanced implants, which most are these days, have added feature of two motion sensors. The first enables the NSA to view everything you view on the web. The second automatically taps your phone line and logs your cell phone records. -- Its the Democrats fault. In fact it is the Speaker of House Polosi fault. Everything is the Democrats fault. however "unlikely" you believe it is, it happened. although i don't characterize it as a headache. it was specific pain in my head on the side where i held the cell phone. the pain began when i used my cell phone and ended a short time after i hung up. i made comments to my coworker about it as i thought it was very unusual. this was my first cell phone (back in 2002). the pain eventually became less and less noticeable. now i'm on my 3rd phone and i don't notice any pain now.
i read a lot of people joking about this, but it's clear to me that we don't know everything about this issue.
| | | | | Re: unknown Cell phones are not comfortable devices. They emit harsh sound straight into your ear, they are hard plastic, they heat up, they're often not as loud as road noise, requiring you to press it to your head in order to make out words. If it went away after years of use, you're probably just getting more used to the discomfort, or learning to use it in a way that is increasingly more comfortable. I have a roommate who _is_ quite sensitive to loud noises and poor lighting who couldn't stand to use a cell phone at first. He's since figured out now how to avoid getting most of his cell-phone related headaches.
One thing that comes to mind, in my experience, if you hold a phone with your shoulder to your head, you can get a "headache" that comes from strain on the neck. Also when trying to use a laptop in bed, I get "headaches" that are 100% neck/back strain.
Besides those answers, sometimes coincidence is just that: coincidence. There's FAR too much research done into investigating minor irritations that would go away if people quit doing whatever makes them hurt, or frivolous things, like "fat pills" so people can sit on their lazy backsides all day. Imagine all that money going towards research on, say, AIDS or Parkinson's (sp). Not that throwing money at a problem solves it, but pissing it away can't be good, either.
If you don't like it, or think it is unhealthy, don't use it.

Yes, there are unknowns. In order to be sure that it's RF causing this, please run a double-blind study holding your TV remote up to your ear for long periods.
