Re: HAHA

Radiation isn’t bad; I can’t stand the hype that these people cause. My microwave door broke a few years ago so I took it off and it’s been fine since. I don’t feel sick when using it and that’s 900 watts right and wifi is like 0.03 watts so I don’t know what her problem is!

Sounds fishy. Microwave ovens have a safety interlock switch to prevent the magnetron tube from operating when the door is open ... or missing altogether.

Not knowing exactly what Irtc did with his microwave, I know that interlock switches are easy to defeat, like the switch on your clothes washer or car door. Push the switch in and VIOLA! the device still works with the door open/missing!

On the other hand, I think that 1000+ watts (like most modern microwave ovens) of power is still too much radiation. I would never run a microwave oven with the door missing, although I have no problems with cell phones or wi-fi.

One or two or even four watts (Cb radio, anyone? hell, it's been around longer than anything else we use in our homes) is ok, but 1000 watts is a little too much for me.
