nothing new

I emailed them 2 weeks ago and they told me i stuck at 5/384 till THEY see a need to increase speed. But you can upgrade for 10 bucks more to 8/512 .

10/1 would be nice but not happen anytime soon here where i live .

Not happening where I live either. An island of Verizon left from the GTE merger means Verizon is not going to deploy FIOS here anytime soon and so TWC is not in any hurry to upgrade their network. Wireless players like Clearwire are not competitive yet.

Wonder if Durham is a good example of the struggling side on the "Digital Divide".

When Time Warner announced their 10 meg tier at the New York state fair.
I visited their booth and did 2 separate speed tests, I believe I used testmynet
First test did 2.2 the second did 2.6. One of there reps came over and shut down the computer on me while explaining that do to the fair there network was overloaded.

My complaint with TW is that they have not expanded there cabled area in my town in all the years they have owned it, even though many areas meet the houses per mile criteria.

At least my 1.6 mb DSL is always 1.6
