MS will release a new rev model in 2007

From a Digi-times article sometime ago, MS was going to replace the 90nm with a 65nm die IBM PPC CPU(3 core). This would make it run cooler and the updated ATI chipset was to work better with 1080p and HDDVDs.

Rumors until proven onsale.

Besides, you should read the xbox gaming forums. The failure rate of 360's freezing and "red ring of death" are starting to be more than just a few wolf cries. Matter of fact, after CoD3 (lousy game btw) froze mine, I started to investigate matters and now have to consider walking in and exchanging the unit. Which is something I don't want to do yet. Someone I know told me that they are 6-8 weeks behind on refurbs back for warranty issues (MS returns direct). One fellow got his replacment only to have the unit not read DVDs.

It's quite a sum to invest (360, PS3 or Wii) when you count the controllers, the games ($60!!!), the accessories and micro-payments on Live. A typical console will come close to $1000 when you through in 3-5 games, another controller, wireless networking, and online downloads.

For those complimenting the Wii, yeah, Nintendo's Wii is a game console for everyone. $250 is about the same as an iPod.
