Cable over-builders have found it VERY expensive, with long odds and timelines on positive investment returns. Just lookup Altrio, GTE/Americast/Verizon Worldwind, AT&T Broadband, WinFirst, and a slew of others who've tried and failed or gave up... and that's just in Southern California...
