Re: January Rate Hike Right in the middle of downloading an episode of DLTV my Modem died. No amount of coaxing would get it to sync a call to tech support confirmed the modem was dead. Plugged in my old 3100 from the @Home days and it booted up right away. They authorized that modem to get me back on line for the night. And true to their word the next day at the Plainfield office they gave me a new modem at no charge. So the Metrocast take over saved me 60 bucks. It is odd for a modem to die in fact I had it tested a month ago at the Plainfield office and it was shown to be working fine. If it was still ECC I would not have been thrilled it died but I would have headed over to Newegg and paid for a new one.
So in this case it sure worked out great.
