<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/925935"><b>pende_tim</b></A> : I seem to recall reading about 3 years ago that WiMax was the soon to be killer delivery method for HSI in rural areas where DSL and Cable were not available. <br><br>Well 3 years later....<br><br>New all technologies face 3 major hurdles:<br><br>Technology development is always at least 3x more expensive and takes at least twice as long as planned.  <br><br>Financing: some investors will have to foot the bill for the development and roll out and he will want a decent payback based on risk.<br><br>Customers: Once you have the technology and financing, you actually need someone who will pay you for the new super-wiz-bang technology. You need  more than the early adopters who will try anything, you need many long term customers that will pay back the people who financed the technology.<br><br>PBL is in this category I am afraid. The technology is not done, investors are nervous and since it is not really ready, customers are few.<br><SMALL>--<br>The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.</SMALL>]]></description>
