Acutally it is the opposite. Sprint has an EVDO roaming agreement with Alltel while Verizon does not. Alltel has better rural coverage and plans EVDO rollout in many rural areas.
And looking and Sprint and Verizon future maps for EVDO, Sprint plans much more rural interstate coverage with EVDO than Verizon.
