Tech Conferences and Special Interest Groups

I didn't know where else to post this but I'm sure a lot of the members here at BBR frequent various tech conferences and special interest groups throughout the nation.

Is it me, or the word "Pedagogical/pedagogy" all of a sudden become an industry buzz word? Did I miss a meeting, when the heck did this all of a sudden become a word that everyone is throwing left and right?

It's isn't so new of a buzzword. The field of Education has been using it for decades. Maybe it's being used in new contexts.

The art and science of being a teacher.

My wife would have a big laugh at that one. If there is one thing that school administrators and students can agree on is a 'don't rock the boat' mentality for which forwarding the easy-A condition is most applicable (in their eyes, not mine) and applied form of education in this country.

Now, how this 'concept' is directly appropriate to this chatroom is bewildering. Do the majority of teachers even know the basic concepts of broadband?
