Hawaiian Telcom E-Mail Problems

I've noticed a lag in sending e-mail to certain domains . On top of that, some e-mail delivery has been slowed. I've been in contact with Hawaiian Telcom about this. Today I got confirmation that they are working on the problems. Although I didn't get an ETA when it would be fixed.

I have a few Hawaiian Telcom accounts but I just have them set for auto-forwarding to one my domains... I don't use them for anything, though. I can't remember the last time I saw anything come in from one of those accounts.

Interestingly, I still have all my original Verizon accounts... and they all can still access the Verizon news server. I guess it doesn't matter... I don't really do news anymore anyway. LOL!

Interesting, you'd think Verizon would've flipped switch on those accounts ? Especially since its been since April 2006 that Hawaiian Tel took over completely.

I believe I slid through the cracks. Verizon never did transfer my accounts to Hawaiian Telcom... I set some up manually a month after their systems went live.

In fact, the accounts that were transfered did NOT belong to me! A short while after the deadline to alter settings (pop3, smtp, etc), I called Hawaiian Telcom because I could not login. I thought I needed to reset passwords or something. The CSR got real confused when I gave my usernames... he listed some names completely foreign to me.

He casually deleted them all and said I could just go set some up the same way a new customer could. All of my usernames were available so it was really no more trouble. However, I still wonder what happened with the person who actually owned those other accounts...

I just tried logging in to the verizon portal... "We are sorry, but there is a problem creating your account." I still get mail to those accounts, though... mostly spam, and a few newsletters that may as well be spam.

Interestingly I know someone who still can use his Verizon Online dial-up. Even though Hawaiian Telcom has taken over all the functions of Verizon Hawaii.
