Re: New clients starting in April, 2007 No, but then again you are at the mercy of the laws of physics there and if you are in an area where your only choice is either dialup or satellite, I think most wouldn't care too much about the latency and go with satellite merely for the speed alone. I know that would be the case for me anyhow.
I actually had the chance to experience a satellite net connection this past year on one of my vacations to a small resort way down in the boonies part of SE Ohio. The office had free wifi hooked up to I BELIEVE a Wildblue connection. Didn't know the speed, I just knew it was a satellite based connection. Albeit I only used it to check email and a few websites during my stay, I didn't notice much of a difference from a standard cable or dsl connection to be totally honest. -- My philosophy on life: Take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt. |
