Since you bring it up, I feel the need to point out that HIPAA is a complete joke. It makes it hard for health care providers directly involved in a patients care to communicate important information about said patients to other providers (IE: pharmicist billing an insurance company, doctor communicating with pharmicist); which wouldn't be so bad if it didn't leave a good deal of the patients private data exposed to anyone that isn't a provider that has access to a phone and a phone book.
