Wow, how hard is that to understand???.002 dollars per kilobyte equals two tenths of a dollar, or $.20 (twenty cent) per kilobyte, instead of two tenths of a cent. That just sucks that the manager couldn't understand the issue or complaint. Correct me if I'm wrong, but thats what I get. |

If a dollar is 100 cents, how is .002 dollars .20? I read it as 2/10 of a cent. |

If the rate was $0.002 per KB, then the manager should have quoted him two tenths of a cent per KB. Not, 0.002 cents per KB. |

No. .002 dollars = 2 cents, it's NOT 2/10th of a cent, and it's NOT 20 cents. It's 2 cents |

Actually...
At $.002 (two thousandths of a dollar) you would need 100 units to equal $.20, 2/10 of a dollar, or 20 cents.
At .002 cents (two thousandths of a cent) you would need 10,000 units to equal $.20, 2/10 of a dollar, or 20 cents. (or 50,000 to equal 100 cents or 1.00 dollar)
.2 = 2 tenths .02 = 2 hundredths .002 = 2 thousandths
Be careful not to mix up your units of measure when calculating. |

Remove the dollar sign before the .20 and change the "two tenths of a dollar" to "two tenths of a cent" and the statement becomes true.
.002 dollars is just that, .002 dollars.
.002 dollars is 00.2 cents (the decimal moves two places because a cent is 100th of a dollar.)
$0.0002 = .02¢ $0.002 = .2¢ $0.02 = 2¢ $0.20 = 20¢ $2.00 = 200¢
$ = dollar ¢ = cent
Let's use the right symbols. |

How do you get 2 cents from $.0002 or $.002? You are right in physical currency. He didn't. He got .2¢ "point two cents" or "2 tenths of 1.0¢" Around and around we go... |

Heck, I'm not even surprised. Remember, these are the graduates who have had "cultural awareness" issues pumped into their heads instead of math and science.
