visitor join:2001-07-26 Manchester, CT | Hardware swap I will be swapping out the Linux router / firewall I built for my parents, when @home first came to the area, for a wireless cable router. Will I have to call the office with the new MAC address or is it a simple power cycle to drop the arp cache from the modem?
Figured I better replace the AMD K6-200 before I get "the" call. -- One minute... and Clarkson still sux! |

 | If you do have Metrocast.. No, you will not have to call us, just restart the modem, and you will be all set.
However, if you live in Manchester (as referenced by your tag), then you would have Cox Cable, and I can't speak for them. |

Do remember cloning my MAC when I got my first router but that went by the way side at some point. Now the modem learns what ever MAC it is plugged in to when it powers up. |

So Friday night the slackware 7.1 Linux box will get retired and the newer WiFi cable router will go in. -- One minute... and Clarkson still sux! |
