Signal strength depends how far you are from the router and also antenna orientation. I am using the USR wireless PCI card to connect but have experienced low signal and poor connection speeds. Now the wireless utility no longer appears in my taskbar even after telling it to do so from the control panel. And my connection will only send data packets and will not recieve. I have installed the software twice, and reset the router each time.
