Re: lets stop catering to hermits. I know many people just down the road from where I live that would be considered rural. They definitely don't have access to cable or DSL. Wireless internet providers are about their only option other than dial up at this time. These people aren't that far out of the city. This area is a growing suburb of a mid size town. A lot of development etc. But there are areas on the fringe of this that don't have the access the original poster seems to think they should have access to.
