Re: Project Pronto and Alcatel 1000 Hi.
The Alcatel 1000 has an internal private IP address of 10.0.0.138, and runs a mini web server for configuration.
Do this before your line goes live: Give your computer an IP address in the same class C net as the Alcatel (i.e. 10.0.0.5, netmask 255.255.255.0). Open your web browser and enter »10.0.0.138 and you'll get the Alcatel's config page. Click the "Bridge" button, which will take you to the Port States page. Look at the line for "ADSL Port 0". The settings you want are: LLC\Snap for Encapsulation No FCS VPI of 0 VCI of 35 Forwarding state The remaining 3 ports should be disabled. If Port 0 does not have these settings, delete it and re-add it with the above settings.
When you're done, click Apply and Save (on the left side of the page).
This was what I did to make my Alcatel work. Good luck! |
