Re: Stamford, Hartford ?????? »www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=4···id=23283
A new world of communications and entertainment is now available to Stamford area residents. AT&T Inc. today announced the initial launch of AT&T U-verseSM, which utilizes AT&T's fiber-rich network that extends optical connections deeper into neighborhoods. U-verse services are initially available in limited areas across the Stamford metropolitan statistical area (MSA), including parts of Danbury, Fairfield, Norwalk, Stamford and Trumbull. AT&T plans to expand to additional areas on an ongoing basis. You were saying? | | RickPremium,MVM join:2001-02-06 Waterbury, CT 4 edits | said by cwh:You were saying? I throw myself on the mercy of the court. Apparently not all the press/news releases dealt with these OTHER cities the service has supposedly been rolled out to, including Norwalk, and Danbury.
In FACT, if parts of Danbury are in fact included, I would even expand your total area the service is rolled out to to eight instead of Seven because how AT&T gets Danbury to be a part of the STAMFORD area is completely beyond me.
They are in completely different parts of the State.
In any event...I just checked the above street in Norwalk..and inquired on #10 Norvell Rd. Norwalk and
HALLELUJAH!! THE SERVICE IS NOW AVAILABLE TO THAT LUCKY RESIDENT!!
And, lest I ever be accused of simply favoring the cable competition, the news regarding danbury is ALSO noted in the local paper here.. »www.newstimes.com/news/updates.p···=1027014
AND, I just checked a relatives address in that city and the service is coming up as being available to their address as well.
Things might be looking up for AT&T and at the very least, this should put some heat on Comcast in these cities and wind up creating some interesting competition.
And, that can be a benefit even if the service isn't all that it's cracked up to be, which I'm not saying is or isn't the case.
Because this latest rollout does seem to be aggressive and is in fact hitting this state and areas I'm familiar with, I will certainly take a little bit of a wait and see attitude now to allow it time to mature a bit, and to see the reviews as they come in.
Things could now get interesting around this State. | |
