In other words, there is no month-to-month triple play rate once the two years is up.]]></description>

I calculated what it cost for two phone lines hooked up to DV and it wouldn't be much cheaper than what I'm paying Verizon. Plus I'm really interested in getting FIOS when it comes to my area, so I really don't want to go through the hassle of signing a two year contract with Comcast and then having to cancel. <br><br>Comcast should do like Cablevision does and offer Double Play offers, which drastically reduce your bill. Especially with the uncertainty as to where they will stand come the end of this year when DTV is able to offer so many HD channels. It's a good value, but I'm not making any two-year commitments until I see what Verizon offers later this year when FiOS becomes available. In my case, I have no interest in the phone service, so it will be interesting if Comcast has other deals brewing for those who are not interested in the full suite of services...probably will be handled in the form of "unadvertised specials" by the retention crew for those contemplating switching companies. Comcast will probably see what volume of customers they get for a two-year committment for all three before offering anything else. ]]></description>

I had to do a double take when she said contract. <br><br>I was wondering when this crap was gonna start coming. My guess is that eventually all service will be based on contracts soon (unless you want to pay a higher rate). This will be the only way to stop the churn that FIOS is creating. <br><br>Verizon is laying conduit on my property right now. I plan to switch to them for internet as soon as it is available and I don't even have HSI from Comcast yet! <br><br>I will wait on FIOS TV even though it is offered in my town.... a little too bleeding edge right now.]]></description>

After that it will start to be rolled out into all other Comcast markets.  Just keep in mind that some Comcast markets "may not" offer this deal but I'm hearing most will offer it.  Beyond that I have no specific timeframes for this sadly to say.<br><br>Now beyond that yes if you move into another market that isn't served by Comcast you must pay a pro-rated amount of no more than 150 bucks.  So if you kept service for exactly one year and moved into a market not served by Comcast you must pay 75 bucks as a cancellation fee.  Also if you really are moving outside of a Comcast market sometimes they will waive the cancellation fee but of course we cannot promise that.<br><br>Also say after a year you move into another Comcast market but this specific market doesn't offer this specific bundle deal.  Well in that case one of two things will occur.<br><br>1.  The new Comcast market will just let your deal continue while still not offering their existing customers this deal.  So in this case its as if you never moved.<br><br>2.  If they don't want to let you finish out your contract they will just cancel your contract and start billing you their normal new customer promo.  They will not charge you a cancellation fee of any amount if they don't want to honor the contract.  The reason for this is that your signing a contract with Comcast and not just Comcast in xxxxx market so if one Comcast area doesn't want to honor it and you are willing to honor your end of the contract they cannot charge you the cancellation fee as they cancelled your contract of their own free doing not yours.<br><br>In simple terms contract law plays out in this case is all.]]></description>

Cell phone companies have been doing that for YEARS!  Sure the early termination fee sucks, but with prices increasing every year, a contract ensures your good deal pricing stays the same for the time period.  What happens though when you move?  It's not your fault if the house you like isn't serviced by Comcast.  Would you still pay the early termination fee?  I'd think about that offer if they had it here, but I can't guarantee I'm going to live here for 2 years.  We might move to a bigger place in a year or so.  The area's we've been looking would require subscribing to Service Electric Cable TV.]]></description>
