Farmer or rancher digs up and cuts fiber.
and then quote:
Qwest's central offices lack fiber route diversity, meaning that when one line is damaged, an entire service area can go down.

kudos:1 | NM isn't alone in that arena. We have the same problems up here, as AT&T/Charter only have one or two back hauls out of the area.
