Re: cablemodem time

Comcast is charging $15 for not having TV service. In my area anyway.

Edit: Mactron beat me to the punch.

2nd Edit: Sorry, the way Comcast puts it, you don't get a $15 price reduction on HSI if you don't have TV service.

Adelphia re-did there pricing for there cable modem last year, no matter if you had cable or not it was 44.95 or so for there regular package. Now since RR has moved into the area, I just saw a new price sheet and they to do not penalize you if you do not have cable TV. $44.95 it is.

Haha...

So you pay $15/m to save paying $10/m ?

Lots of savings there.

That means instead of paying 15 dollars for TV service, he is paying 5 dollars.

Then again I don't have either since I have DSL and DirecTV.

Then again it is a good hook and somewhat silly if you did not pay the $5 for the benefit of not having an antenna on your TV.

yeah, cox has also removed the discount you used to get for having another service as well.

But if you just pay the $10, you get the broadcast basic anyway(dirty little secret there). just hook up a T.V. and you'll see. no need to pay for it.

Well we still get bundling discounts for more than one service, however those who have no cable television at all can get internet for 44.95, same peice for those who have only basic cable. You start to get the bundling discounts if you have digital cable.

Not always true. It depends on if the tech puts the filter back on the line. And remember its still stealing because you're not paying for that service from the Cable Co. And if they catch you it could mean loss of everything.

You say it as you are owed anything in the first place. And the way you see it, you're being screwed. You're also spending more and getting more.

You certainly have options... once included not having the service. There is no guarantee in life that you are entitled to have tv or internet.
