| reply to Rubicon I'm not sure if AirAsia flies directly from the States to this part of the world, maybe not yet. Even the long haul flights planned for Europe, Australia and China are not planned to start till later this year.
Maybe it would be cheaper if you took Malaysia Airlines to Malaysia first as there should be discounts for the 2007 visit Malaysia campaign. Flying from Malaysia to Bali after that via AirAsia would be extremely cheap

| reply to Rubicon Best.. as in cheapest or best service?
For best service, in my opinion, take Singapore Air to Jakarta/CGK, then any domestic flight to Denpasar. Air Asia is bookable online, though I had a bad experience with booking (they overbooked then claimed that it was my card that was rejected even though the charge came up in my statement. Tired of arguing, I bought four tickets from Sriwijaya Air next door for only $5 more, and got Citi to reverse the Air Asia charge. I wrote to Jakarta Post and Air Asia offered me replacement tickets, which I didn't take). Buying tickets in the airport is really easy. Or, SIA may have connections to DPS as well. Singapore Air fares from consolidators are comparable to MAS fares, if you don't mind calling around. |

Newark - KUL - Bali. The fare is under 1100 roundtrip. -- Saya anak malaysia |

On MAS, NY to KUL or Changi, the base price is $699, and unless you're willing to overnight in either airport, the connecting flight is where they make the killing. -- Saya anak malaysia |
