- if Protect_IVR_FactoryReset is set to YES, and BOTH admin and user passwords are defined, then the VM will NOT factory reset. This is the case when provisioned by Vonage, and is the condition I had been testing under previously, and obviously rushed to a premature conclusion.
Note that Protect_IVR_FactoryReset can only be modified via provisioning, as there's no menu entry for it. Also, it is sufficient to press the reset button for just under 5 seconds to factory reset.
So in conclusion, to protect your unlocked RT31P2 (or WRT54GP2) against accidental factory reset and relock, make sure to set Protect_IVR_FactoryReset to YES, AND set BOTH admin and user passwords to non-blank values. | | |

That's great findings DogFace05. Interestingly, I saved user PW as "user" and admin PW as "admin" and found out that after I login the router part (192.168.15.1) as admin, when I go to voice admin page (192.168.15.1/Voice_adminPage.htm), it doesn't ask for the voice PW again. I think that's because router side of admin PW is the same as Voice part of admin PW, which is "admin". So, it is like you don't have an admin PW for your voice part of RT31P2; because you will never been asked after you login to the router side.
Off course, if you save a different pw for your voice admin login, it does ask you admin PW even if you login to the router first.
So, I advice all Unlocked RT31P2 owners to save user and admin PWs as "admin" after you feed the device with an xml file, in which it says "Protect_IVR_FactoryReset" as "Yes". This will protect you from doing factory reset at the back button. Also, no one can perform fully factory reset even by using web admin login of the device, because it will ask for user PW.
Again, this is great findings DogFace05. Thanks for the hard work.
