| reply to dwafo Re: Welcome to the Verizon FIOS TV Forum
said by dwafo :Just to confirm and make sure it wasn't just a "sale" pushed. Fios TV has an option on their DVR to do an equivalent to "season pass" - where you pick a show to record and it will remember to record the show the next season and also remember if the shows time/day changes?? It records based on the guide data. if it is up to date/accurate, so should the recording. if the time changes for an unknown reason, like a football game runs late, you'd be out of luck. It uses the guide to determine what to record and when.
said by dwafo :Also can someone tell me with the MR DVR - my son can say - watch a pre-recorded show while I watch either live tv or another pre-recorded show? Yes. As long as the recorded show is SD. You can't playback on a remote STB a HD program. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

| Kinda sux on the first part since now it'll keep recording the show if it goes over. If a football game is being recorded and goes over it'll know to keep recording it. But it the same aspect if another show is set to record AFTER the game, and the game isn't being recorded it WILL record the first part of the football game and then pick up the other show.
Do you know if it will at least do that? |

| Neither of the scenarios are covered by any DVR that I am aware of. The DVR records the time for a selected show based on the guide data. If the guide data shows a football game from 1-4, that is what it records. if the game goes into OT for 30 mins and ends at 4:30, it won't record past 4 unless you, the customer, pad the time at the end of the recording, just in case. -- Tweaked your connection? | Mail Parse | Speed Converter |

| what I meant - and using your scenario. If the show I wanted to record was at 4:00 and the game went to 4:30 the show would pick up at 4:00 but record the first 30mins of the extended football game. At least thats what my current DVr does from DirecTV. |

FIOS TV will be coming "soon" to Ft. Wayne. Some technical ?s...1) What is the signal level at the ONT? 2) How much signal is required at the set top box? 3) Can the signal be divided by conventional video splitters or is special equipment required (like DirecTV)?
..and program ?s...Are sports pkgs (like NHL Center Ice/NBA League Pass) available? |

| reply to BBR_InsUW What would it take to get a sales person to see if I can get the Verizon fios Service at my home. I called in to sales, they said they would get back with me no call. I spoke with 2 field sales reps and was told they would call me. Is it Verizon has so much money they don't want mine? |

Redneck, go to the Verizon Fios TV site and click on approperate box to enter your area code and it will tell you if you can receive Fios Tv in your area. It isnt that simple. I am a at&t tech which I hjave company consessions and I live in Verizon Irving which makes me a sport customer thru company mutual agreements.
Verizon wants me to convert my telco to them first then tell me whether or not I can get fios thus losing my employee consessions thru at&t.
Is there a way to tell if the fios service is hitting the Rt I am on before I convert? |

| reply to BBR_InsUW I just ordered NBA League Pass on Verizon FIOS TV.
In BOSTON lineup, it's on channel 700 - 709.
And unbelievably the price is $129/season, vs. ~ 160 (early bird, Comcast).
I guess finally Verizon had the deal for NBA fans.
I love FIOS! |

| reply to BBR_InsUW I just had a Verizon rep come to my door soliciting Fios and Fios TV. They want you to sign up on the spot. I am not familiar with Fios TV . We do not have HS TV's in our home so they have to provide boxes (at $4.99 ea per month). Can anyone share their experience with the whole FIOS product ?Esp the TV ? |

@aol.com | reply to BBR_InsUW I have moved from the area where I had FiOs TV. I need to return the set top boxes, but no one will tell me how to do that. Any suggestions? All the numbers I have called are automated and not helpful at all. |

@verizon.com | You can return your boxes at the Verizon Plus store in Irving. It's at 183 and MacArthur by Target. |

| reply to BBR_InsUW I thought comcast service sucked big time so I tried to switch to Verizon. The operative word is TRIED. I can't begin to describe my frustration with VERIZON - but I'll here goes: 1. Dropped Comcast for Phone and Internet service. That worked OK. 2. Updated my internet to FIOS because I got a notice that I qualified for the "triple play" deal on phone, internet and TV. 3. Once I got signed up for the Fios internet I found out that my municipality had not "approved" the FIOS TV so I could only get the internet upgrade. 4. Went that route in September and was told I'd get a call around November 18 to schedule the FIOS TV. 5. That never happened. 6. Called Verizon on Nov 21 and asked and was told to call back. Called back at the end of Nov and set up an installation date of Dec 4 between 1PM and 5PM. 7. At 5:15 PM on Dec 4 no one had showed up so I called and called and was given the run around until after 6 PM when Verizions phones go down for the day. 8. I'm ready to drop all my verizon services if I could!!!

| reply to BBR_InsUW hello, i'm new to this forum and appreciate any help. i recently had fios tv installed and have children in the house so i set up parental controls. they work fine for the regular channels but i still can access the on demand adult section, and instead of seeing "adult programing" the different channelnames are there for all to see. i just want to avoid the kids seeing sexually explicit channel names. when you get to the movie itself after about three clicks of the remote the actual movie title only shows adult programming. any way to shut the entire adult section of on demand down. thanks |
