Don't have experience with parental controls myself but I suggest you start a new thread for this. I don't think many people regularly check the Welcome thread. Good luck. |

hello, i'm new to this forum and appreciate any help. i recently had fios tv installed and have children in the house so i set up parental controls. they work fine for the regular channels but i still can access the on demand adult section, and instead of seeing "adult programing" the different channelnames are there for all to see. i just want to avoid the kids seeing sexually explicit channel names. when you get to the movie itself after about three clicks of the remote the actual movie title only shows adult programming. any way to shut the entire adult section of on demand down. thanks There are three different versions of the guide currently deployed, so it would be helpful to either know which version you are running (or where you are located). |

| reply to BBR_InsUW Hello. New to FOrum...not Fios. I have a brand new HDTV that we have installed..everything works ok until we wish to record a program.
All efforts to record cause the HDTV screen to go blue "NO SIGNAL". We have to reboot the set top box and unplug and replug the tv each time.
Any advice to eliminate this excercise?
Thanks

| reply to BBR_InsUW Here's a couple of questions for DVR users.
Scenario for Question #1: I'm going on a trip and set the DVR to record several programs while I'm gone. The electricity goes out for some period of time, but goes back on BEFORE the airing of the programs I want to record.
Will the DVR automatically update it's own time and date and proceed to record the programs I've scheduled?
Question #2: I have a DVD recorder. Can I copy a program from the DVR to the DVD recorder for archive purposes (or to free up space on the DVR). I realize that the DVD recorder will not record a program in HD.
Thanks. |

| Gee, thanks people for going to a "passive optical network"! I love you... PON BPON GPON whatever! Dont forget the POTS people who in time will be GONE, GONE, see ya. Thanks for your hard work over the decades. FIOS techs, eventually, with enough support from the community, you too will be dwindled down. Get it! PASSIVE... Just snap that apc connector and run with it to a LAY OFF. Better yet, contractors, so Verizon wont have to dish out medical and retirement... Again, Thank you community for putting all these guys out of work. You just wont need the manpower to support a "PASSIVE OPTICAL NETWORK"> keep up the tradition! |
