 | play nice Apple is just quoting semantics here, "our product isn't the IPhone it's the iPhone" what's the freakin difference.
it's still the word phone with an "i" infront of if, Apple in lower case Cisco in upper case.
Oh btw I'm starting a new computer company I'm calling it aPPle, but it's ok because the the 2 upper case "p"s stand for "Personal PC" ya I don't think that would go over so well. -- You want a piece of me? Well come and get it!-Prof. Farnsworth |

I hope I wasn't misleading with my post. The capitalization isn't the legal issue that Apple raised. The issue that they raised is that Cisco has an IP networking device, while Apple has a cellphone; and that Apple used the i**** naming theme before Cisco registered iPhone. |

 | yes I see now after going to the Cisco site that they are both "iPhone", but still they ARE both phones, yes one is an IP phone and one is a cellphone, but they are both telecomunications devices. -- You want a piece of me? Well come and get it!-Prof. Farnsworth |

I am not sure that the first Apple i-products are this old... The registration date for Cisco's trademark is not 10 years old, the registration is even in this thread - November 16, 1999. I believe Apple is correct that the iMac and iPod names were public before then, but that might not be true.
No, I'm not sure about that. You selectively quoted me out of context. I was just repeating Apple's defense, and you only quoted part of what I said in a way that appears that I am making the assertion. Not nice. |

So, it'd be about a wash on the use of "i" as a modifier.
