That idea probably made Mr. Jobs wet himself. Because, the Mac platform is after all the epitome of interoperability and openness. -- Use the OS tool for the job. |

Actually, it is, now. Their operating system is far, FAR more open than Microsoft's and definitely more interoperable. A statement to the contrary might have held water back in the days prior to OS X. -- Prove it... |

Right, much like iTunes and the iPod for example. -- Use the OS tool for the job. |

Perhaps if you knew what the term "open" actually meant in the computing world, you would be able to join the discussion with looking like a goofball. Open doesn't refer to the ability to run on piece of hard, open refers to two thing: (1) being able to access the code or schematics of the product and (2) being built upon agreed upon industry standards. There is no guarantee that said open products will run on your hardware. -- Prove it... |

No matter what way you TRY to twist is, WMA and all of the music stores that sell it are still selling a closed format, just like AAC from Apple's music store.
Unless they all start selling MP3 formatted files, no one is selling an open file format.
So, before you go calling people who know what they are talking about a clod, perhaps you should brush up on the terminology. -- Prove it... |
