[OT]Is it just me?

Or does it seem that lately all I see on the front page of the sites news section has been about Apple doing this or that. I mean let's be honest we all know how the discussion will turn out, mac zealots, they'll buy anything, overpriced, etc. It just seems to be the same thing each and everyday. I mean honestly why even post a news headline about Apple when you know it will merely manifest into some demeaning thread about Apple users.

Funny you should mention it, the 802.11n thread just hit the front page about 10 minutes ago and it looks to be headed that route.

Because there is a conflict of interest and when it deals with fanboys from either parts of the spectrum it's usually a battle royale and all you can really do is just sit back and watch.

I already knew the 802.11 n problem was going to make the front page so it's no surprise to me really. In all honesty though, being a realist is the best route to take and avoid any fandom crap from either side.

The fandom situation is like a stack of cards, it builds and builds in it's own communities but someone says something that's against there point of view the entire stack of cards collapses and usually on to you and when there is more than one yadda yadda yadda.

You get what I am saying?

Well...let's be honest. The non Apple Fan boys don't have a lot to cheer about so they turn and attack those that appear to be having fun.
Seeing that you didn't tag the thread [OT], this will end up there too. (the [OT] should go ahead of the title.)
This site is but one of hundreds that have "news" on their front page. Some IgnorAnus in London just today was piping on about Apple having to fight for every iPhone sale. Really? Not according to Cingular...Apple may have to beat buyers off with a stick...
We have our own "Pseudo Fans", the ones who appear to be fans but are really Anti-Apple and try to give them a dig whenever they think it's appropriate. They are usually found out fairly quick and are labeled as such.
And then the ranters who rant about something for no apparent reason...you know the ones...."It doesn't have the this and the that!!!" and when pressed, can't tell you what the this and the that does in the first place....they just know it doesn't have it and now they are mad.

I sit back and chuckle cause it's like this after every MacWorld and WWDC. If I ran the site, I'd lock ATM for two weeks after each Apple Keynote....

Re: [OT]Is it just me?

In all of 200+ forums here, there is ONE for Macintosh computers. Not one for the OS, one for the hardware, one for speculation, one for help, and one for iPod and iTunes like the Macintosh sites have.

Windows users, on the other hand, have Software, Microsoft Help, Security, Super Secret Security, Plain Vanilla Security, Modding, Silent Computing, and some others.

News on the front page is fine - it has its own discussion thread and all the ignorants can remain there.

It's when the "Bash Mac Fanboys Here" big neon sign goes on from one of OUR threads hitting the front page that things get ridiculous. And yes, if I were modding, anyone coming in from the front page that demonstrated that they only read the thread title would be squashed like a gnat. But of course, if I were in charge I would turn off the front page "feature" for this and all other minority forums.

Well what we need to do is secretly build up a collective group of people and take over.
