Apple advertised B and G wireless standards to their customers who bought their notebooks... now they're giving THEM option that Dell / HP would never do , upgrade to N standard for $5.

People buy Mini w/out keyboard because they have ALREADY have a keyboard and mouse that will work. In addition, you can always buy a keyboard and mouse, Apple-made or not, any time anywhere you want.
Now, if you have already had a keyboard and by a second one for no reasonable reason, than it is an idiotic action on your own.

This is not an upgrade, it is removing the block put on something you already paid for, most likely more $$$ for in the first place.

You don't see MS come out and say, we have to charge you $$$ because we are releasing a new features. We cannot book the revenue if we don't charge $$$ for this new "feature".
Of course, Mac's lemming will give million of reason why its moral for Apple to do it. |

Bite Me Well here's a clue: do some research with an effort. Just because a minority of Mac users "flaunt their mac in everyone else's face" doesn't mean that the entire Mac "community" is as you see it.
To limit you choice in computers and operating systems based on the way you perceive the personalities of the users of that system is moronic. Stop trying to be accepted by your peers and worrying about how will look to others based on your purchases and buy what you want to buy.
As for the topic at hand... APPLE HASN'T ANNOUNCED IF THIS IS TRUE AS OF YET. We are basing all of this argument on a rumor site - if this story is true, then it can be up to serious debate. At this point, nothing is for certain.
And to those who are throwing up the argument of "if this was Microsoft of Dell...". How stupid are you? Take a look at this thread. Most of the posts are AGAINST this action on Apple's part. Most of the news that's posted to the front page of this site is critical of Apple - so stop fooling yourselves. Apple doesn't get special treatment on this site and neither does Microsoft, Dell, or any other manufacturer. |

Just like the Volkswagon owner, the Mac is very much what I described. There are some that are not, but really, I've YET to meet a Mac user out there that doesn't worship the piece of fruit. Learn how to read, ok?
The fact that I still disclaimered my post and you still took it person tells me alot. Research? don't need to do any. The facts are there. Apple spend millions of dollars over years marketing to a specific type of user.. need more proof than, well.. proof?

I'd like to see one of the studies you have found that shows the huge percentage of "smugness" present in the Mac "community." If you actually looked into the issue rather than making glaring assumptions, you would realize that a huge portion of Mac users are also Windows users. What may be even more surprising to you is that many of them will admit that there are flaws in Mac OS... in fact, some of them believe that the Mac platform isn't perfect. I know this will come as a shock to you, since the research you didn't do has unearthed mounds of facts supporting your ignorant, disillusioned opinion.
The fact of the matter is it doesn't matter what the personality of the Mac "community" is. Even if you are correct (which any intelligent person will tell you that you are not) that the majority of Mac users feel superior to Windows, the fact that you allow that to disqualify an entire company and computing platform is what's most disturbing. When I buy a product, I buy it because I want it, not because of any uneducated perception I have regarding the typical user of that device.
Also, you aren't the only one who "speaks what's on his mind" - there are plenty of Mac-haters just like you all over the place. And that's not to say that one isn't allowed to hate the Mac platform - as long as that hatred is legitimate. But when the someone hates a platform for completely unfounded, ridiculous reasons - that's simply beyond me.

But, do tell me.. where did I say I hated Mac? Again, you are SOOO blinded by the truth that it hurts you. This is, by the way, the typical reaction/response from a Mac user who is having their Mac stepped on or insulted.

2 edits | The funny thing is I use Windows more than I use a Mac. I enjoy using Windows and I enjoy using my Mac. And I'm not insulted at all.
And the truth is, I don't give a damn about this argument anymore. We're in a topic called "Mac sheeple" - I should have known this conversation would degrade into a "you're proving my point with your typical Mac user response"-type conversation.
And where did I say you did a study? Open your eyes and read.
