<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/993987"><b>dynodb</b></A> : Please tell me they didn't get the $296 million number from Becca Vargo Daggett, a staunch muni broadband advocate with the left wing Institute for Local Self-Reliance.<br><br>It's pretty much a given that government projects almost always end up costing much more than initially claimed and that advocacy groups often fudge the numbers in favor of their position.  If Becca is claiming $296 million, chances are the actual costs would be closer to $500 million.]]></description>
