Re: Who is to pay For the Damage done to Wireing updated

there is no excuse for terminating the satellite line unless you had a LAT(Lazy ass tech) come to do it and just terminated at the groundblock and not pay attention to what he was doing.

I ahve used terminators on outlets before but there were different circumstances, One outlet in a house has an extreme leak that cant wait for them to call back in etc...

pucked up a 1500UV/M leak coming from one room. They guy wired his own cable and twi9sted the braiding around the center conductor and didnt get the connectors on right so he assumed it was a weak signal and purchased several radio shack amplifiers and placed them behind his tv

There is no reason to put that terminator on anything other than the tap (or worst case, the end of the drop) to disconnect your service.

It shouldn't have been installed on the splitter or lines running to each room.

Does anyone else in the house still have cable services?

If not, the tech needs to be retrained.

That's not a filter. It's a locking terminator.

Are you still getting basic cable service or HSI service at all?

I would say they disconnected at the tap which has nothing to do at your house, and even so, why would they "cut" an outlet?

The home owner. Since the cable is not ran by the CableCo, and is a Third Party service, you have one of two choices: 1) Pay the Satellite installer to come out and run a new one, or 2) Buy your own RG-6 and fix it yourself.

I threw out the map a long time ago. Now I follow my own direction!

If you saw them do it, raise Hell. If you didn't and they just disconnected your cable at the tap, that would be a hard case to plead.

Although, I have known cable companies come out and re-splice cable that was ACCIDENTALLY cut during an install. You never know, if you call and tell them that you believe the disco technician cut your cable, they might send someone back as a courtesy whether they believe you or not.

If you have $5, you can get a barrel and a couple of screw-on connectors to tide you over until you can get the proper repair done.
