burner50 : there is no excuse for terminating the satellite line unless you had a LAT(Lazy ass tech) come to do it and just terminated at the groundblock and not pay attention to what he was doing.

I ahve used terminators on outlets before but there were different circumstances, One outlet in a house has an extreme leak that cant wait for them to call back in etc...

pucked up a 1500UV/M leak coming from one room. They guy wired his own cable and twi9sted the braiding around the center conductor and didnt get the connectors on right so he assumed it was a weak signal and purchased several radio shack amplifiers and placed them behind his tv :uhh:

Since the cable is not ran by the CableCo, and is a Third Party service, you have one of two choices: 1) Pay the Satellite installer to come out and run a new one, or 2) Buy your own RG-6 and fix it yourself.
--
I threw out the map a long time ago. If you didn't and they just disconnected your cable at the tap, that would be a hard case to plead.

Although, I have known cable companies come out and re-splice cable that was ACCIDENTALLY cut during an install.
