i wish i had a scanner to upload some pics from the ice storm of '94. we lost a couple 323 ft towers in that one.
we had several more go down that we rent space on, and quite a few customer towers. only a few towers in a 50 mile radius even with stood it.
our 180' Rohn 25 tower behind the shop was a solid block of ice. the guides had 4-5 inches on them, but somehow it stood.
i found out in '01 or '02 that a VERY thin glaze of ice on a sat dish will screw everything up. i had to make a 700+ mile round trip to clear ice off most of the dishes at our sites.
