Re: Kind of OT: Cingular Q. If I switch to an AT&T UnitySM rate plan, will I get to keep my accumulated Rollover minute balance?
A. No. AT&T UnitySM rate plans do not include Rollover minutes. If you switch from a non-AT&T UnitySM rate plan to an AT&T UnitySM rate plan, you will lose any Rollover minutes you may have accumulated.
well nevermind then... |

THANK GOODNESS. IT'S ABOUT TIME.
Now, if AT&T mandates a switch and turns Cingular and that damn rollover completely off, they'll be doing good.
Why do I say that?
Because I don't like seeing customers get screwed without even realizing it. That's why. I said it before. If you are able to roll minutes over, you're basically overpaying for whatever plan you are on, because clearly you didn't need that plan to begin with. It's a ripoff. And it needs to go away.
AT&T free cell-to-landline is huge. I don't know what's wrong with some of you. Yeah, T-mo has that MyFaves and Alltel has their Circle, and that's great and all, but one thing I didn't like about Cingular when they first formed is the fact that the cell and landline was never linked. Doing this creates great potential for the future.
When I see Cingular is defunct, I'll consider a switch back to AT&T. |

fancydancerPerception is realityPremium join:2002-08-28 Springfield, IL | Maybe I just don't talk enough, but I like rollover and I have been on the 450min plan for just over a year and have nearly 2000min of rollover. When I signed up I could have gone with the 29.99/mo plan which does not include rollover. It seems to me Cingular wanted everyone to sign up with the $39.99 (450min) plan, AT LEAST. Rollover is nice because your calling habits can change, like mine have. I use nearly all my minutes now, plus tons of my free nights/weekends and mobile-to-mobile minutes. Excuse the slogan quote, but they are my minutes, I should get to keep them. -- Thank you for keeping this a work-free environment! |

| reply to ReVeLaTeD My wife and I are on the cheapest familytalk plan that Cingular offered about 2 years ago, we pay $50 for 500 minutes to share between us. We have about 1500 minutes banked if we need to use them. An updated plan would cost me at least $10 more each month. Personally I think the current rates plans screw the consumer a lot more than people realize. |

 | reply to fancydancer exactly, and for some that use the cell phone as their main telephone number, some months yo dont use it as much, but then rond holidays/big events you can bur through alot of those rollover minutes. i allways use my cell when i know i have to call tech support and be on hold for a long time. |

Some of you need to cruise over to HowardForums. There was a debate some time ago about usage, and one customer who actually got a letter from T-mo talking about "excessive" usage. Turns out he had over 19,000 Night and Weekend minutes he'd used. His reason? 'Well, there are some times when I really need to use the phone a lot more than I usually would, like during holidays, so I just wait until the weekends/after hours and make my calls then'.
Trust me. I understand the thought process, Cingular customers. Sometimes you need more than your plan allows. But that's why there are Night and Weekend free times. You can make your calls at that time without paying more for your plan than you normally would need to. The problem is most people are impatient and want things now-now-now instead of just waiting until their offpeak to make the majority of their calls. Business customers probably don't have that luxury, but they should really be on a business class plan in that case. |

I have the lowest plan offered by Stingular and I STILL have rollover. failure on my part? no, failure for Stingular to offer a lower plan at a lower price. And don't say "well you need GoPhone" GoPhone is for idiots and people with bad credit. -- "WHEN THE LAUGH TRACK STARTS THEN THE FUN STARTS!" |
