If some group wanted my business info i would sure as hell tell them to suck it.

Re: Anyone own a business here?

Dagda1175,

The FCC already has that information. In fact they were given the legal authority and duty to collect that information by the federal legislature. If a company told the FCC to suck it I'm sure that the FCC would be able to tell them to suck it with a hefty fine.

The question at hand is not about getting some sort of corporate proprietary information, the question at hand is why won't the FCC turn over the information to the public that it was chartered by the congress (and by extension the public which the congress represents) to collect and why do the corporations want to hide that information so sorely?

I will play the same card then. If they have nothing to hide why are they so hellbent on hiding it?

This would be considered much the same as a map/survey showing what areas are served by telephone service, served by electricity, by a paper route, by whatever service that covers a geographical area. Any of that information is readily available why is broadband coverage such a top secret service? Saying only a terrorist needs this info is one of the most uninformed and frankly stupid things I have heard. Not only does that not even make sense it would be of no use to them, a real estate agent it would be useful or some other internet carrier so they can spot potential customers not being served or a person moving into the area so they know what they have available for service but a terrorist now you are just blowing a smokescreen and trying to cover up a very weak rationale for not showing it.

Re: Anyone own a business here?

So all companies should release all data so scummy real estate agents can make some money??

Re: Anyone own a business here?

The FCC is not some company it is a governmental agency that is supposed to serve the public not big business. I have no idea why you wouldnt want a governmental agency held accountable for data they quote but dont seem to want to actually share. This type of action leads one to think that they are hiding something or protecting someone, most likely the companies that would sue on their behalf to hide the data.

I am sure you will, if you bother to answer, bend the meaning to some pointless rambling such as posting in Spanish saying the exact same thing like another post in this forum thread.

I still have not seen one reason a public entity should be hiding publicly funded data. If Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, whoever does not want to release a survey they did I dont care, their shareholders can yell at them, but the FCC does not have shareholders they are supposed to serve the public not serve Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, etc.
