| January 27+28 Big Railroad Hobby Show in Springfrield, MA Gigantic Annual Railroad Show at the Eastern States Exposition Fairgrounds in West Springfield MA presented by the Amherst Railway Society.
Saturday January 27, 2007 9:00am - 5:00pm Sunday January 28, 2007 *10:00am - 5:00pm*
For details and more info see the Amherst Railway Society web site
I've been going to this show since the 1980's. It gets BIGGER and BETTER every year. There are operating layouts -watch model trains of ALL gauges in action-, clinics to help modelers of all skill levels, a huge flea market and more! It now occupies 3 buildings at the Big E fairgrounds. BIG is an understatement!
If your are a railfan this show is not to be missed. If you're not a train nut, stop by and maybe you'll become one. | |

| vax is correct in saying its a great show. I was down that way 3 years ago and caught this expo. While not particularly a train fan -- I found the displays intriguing. If you are in the area , I would recommend it as well . | |

| Love to go, I need some inspiration for my layout, it's just too far a haul. I also spent a raft of $$$ today on varnish after going to the Cape Cod Boatbuilders show yesterday... I also have a railcar of train stuff that is still un-built. (puns intended ) | |

| I took my 3 & 5 year olds. They both had a good time. One suggestion is if you're bringing kids shorter than 4 ft, bring your own footstool since most of the displays are too tall for them to see (only 1 place provided milk crates to stand on). Otherwise, you'll end up picking them up a lot and killing your back ... like me. | |
