"Major Surgery" pretty much sums it up for the average computer you see with 512MB of ram. LOL

Comedy Central has had a few. They were kind of subtle though often not mentioning Vista at all.

I haven't seen any TV ad's but Future Shop and Business Depot sure have been pushing Vista in their fliers.

I've never seen a Windows commercial. Even the 95 one shown in this topic. Only saw that from another thread a few months back.

It'll still sell like hotcakes.

Me.... I'll pass for now.

The first video reminds me of how many times I got a laugh out of "Getting Ready to Run Windows for the First Time". It did kind of lose it's edge after the tenth time though.

Edit: the usual sp errors.

I have never been a big fan of the Microsoft TV commericals because they don't offer any substance unlike this old Apple commerical which I found on You Tube.

I am 100% PC but when it comes to advertisting Apple certainly is the winner there.

Re: [Vista] A week before vista and no Tv Ad's?

There are a bunch of Windows Vista ads, I have seen them here in NY anyway.

Circuit City, Best Buy, HP an a few others have ads running tha mention Windows Vista and the launch date and Mirosoft has a few ads running promoting it.

Circuity Citys Vista ad basically is an ad for FireDog but they mention vista like every chance they get.

Microsoft has found it better to push "People Ready" more then Vista. You probably will not even see a single Vista ad come Superbowl on 2/04/07.

Don't you mean Microsoft "VaporWare". Until the product is released, do not advertise. At least with XP, there was plenty of advertisements.

One thing I have to say, is I am starting to hate Microsoft's TragicX setup on their pages. Could they not of left well enough alone, without pushing this crap to everyone.

That video is for the stores & other agents of Microsoft, not to be meant as public viewing. Nothing more then Propaganda for their sales drones.

Re: [Vista] A week before vista and no Tv Ad's?

The problem I find with the current Microsoft adds is that they are leaning more to the business side of things, so I am not sure if they intend to push the other sides of the marketplace away from their Windows product and let Apple rope people into their friendlier Operating System?

I guess Microsoft has never learned the basics of attracting everyone to needing your product, like Apple, and Commodore did decades ago.

Ray of light my butt. Microsoft should re-release the commercial, and show how it actually is now five years later. Since the latest updates for IE7, and god knows what else, XP is starting to move like a bloated Yak.
