1 edit | ATT policy changes policys again this year, just found out that AT & T,(former SBC) has changed another one of its MAJOR policies for this new year,
beside this one, »NEW AT&T-DSL Policy causing customers to leave
went to ATT site to see about buying one of their New "corded" home phones
on the ATT resident's page,
you will see all the phones that ATT claims they sell[/b} ok,
but if you call up their 800 # office you will find out that ATT only has a select few,phones to sell,that the phones that are shown aren't sold by ATT at all but through 3rd party,not by ATT at all...
[b]sure sounds like false advertising to me,
especially when an ATT sales rep tells me,
we don't sell that many phones,so we don't have a lot of phones in stock,it would be cheaper for you to buy your phone at office depot or best buy.
so WHY advertise phone for sale ATT ,if you don't sell the phones you advertise? hmmm

I'm not sure if you know what the definition of false advertising is, but that you are describing is not false advertising. And I agree, it is cheaper to buy it form office depot or bestbuy.

Seems to me like the rep was being honest with you. At&T does not make the phones and from what I understand no longer actively trys to sell them. You should be glad the customer service person didn't push you to buy a phone with an AT&T logo on it. Just be glad he gave you some good advice. |

Tweek,Rob,THANK YOUfor the explaination, and UNDERSTAND & have already been "glancing at some phones" at non ATT- stores, the last phone i purchaced from swbell,sbc,att other then my cingular phone
was a CIDCO 2100 (South Western Bell) "big screen" telephone,****sure wish i could find another one like thisJuly 2000,only other landline is an Orignal Dial M,Mouse phone,.
*** yes have looked on ebay & many stores onlune /offline trying to find a "backup" (like this ) phone,

kudos:70 | I find on ebay if you have the specific model number a lot of stuff comes up quicker that way.
Also there is also a site that looks up Typos of ebay auctions but don't have the link handy. |
