Outdoor rackmount enclosure

After checking through the items shown here:
»Outdoor Enclosures: Sources?
And seeing that none of them match the bill, does anyone know of an enclosure with a 19" wide rack and at least 22" deep; the cases i use are mostly 20" so a nice 2" margin would be nice. Does anyone else here use something like this?

Thanks!

You can take any large NEMA enclosure, mount a 3/4 inch plywood back inside it, and then screw a wallmount 19" rack to the plywood. The plywood makes for a good surface to screw other items like POE injectors etc.

I have such a setup but I subcontracted it out so I don't have links to bits that put it together.

I am having problems finding large enclosures (even without racks) any ideas where to look; looking for at least 24" depth, 36" height?

We deal with a local electric company that “has to get rid” of there used out-door electrical boxes - I.E : Traffic light controller boxes and street light fuse panel boxes -

They get replaced all the time and the used ones are in good condition - Many sizes are available , mostly rack-able , most come with heaters and cooling fans , great weather seals and locking mechanisms , and the construction is of the highest quality ( hinges handles ect.)

I suggest asking around ( maybe phone you local utilities commission or stop to ask anyone replacing traffic light bulbs or heads - They'll know where they are. )

This route can save you a lot of money and the units ( solid stainless or aluminium ) are much better quality than most sold .

Happy Hunting, Bandy.

Here are two seperate boxes that we have used. I can't remeber the specs, but I will be out at the cabinet on the ground tomorrow.

Both were purchased from Falcon Communications both have a hefty pricetag though. $1k+
