More drilling of holes to fit fibers

Will owners want their dwellings drilled for fiberwires up to 20th floors ?

I am moving to a complex with Fiber to the building and its not served by Verizon. Since its fiber optics, its the same thing. The inbuilding distribution is over RG6/UQ coaxial. That coaxial has plenty of bandwidth available as the carrier is moving to an all digital platform. So wiring the guts with fiber is not really necessary.

Ethernet speeds are increasing sharply and so a fiber pair to each apartment really isn't necessary even for the highest bandwidth applications. But if such did become necessary, having fiber to the basement split to fiber to the apartments isn't such a big deal to do since in this case the fiber optics is already in place and ready to go with CATV as well while Verizon FIOS has yet to even deploy let alone nab a NY Citywide CATV franchise.
