Should the ADSL modem embedded in the Fritzbox 7140 router work with Covad/Cyberonic?
From the specs:
"ADSL access: Standards: ITU G.992.1 Annex A and Annex B"
"Integrated ADSL modem supports ADSL and ADSL 2+; FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7140 and 7050 ready for ADSL 2+"
"ETSI TS 101 388, ITU-T G.992.1, ITU-T G.994.1, ETSI ETR328"

| Based on the specs the modem part should have no problems at all. Complications may arise with the router part depending on how it is implementing PPPoA/PPPoE (Covad service can be configured to be either). Normally PPPo? is used for a single IP address (either dynamic or sticky static) and all broadband routers seem to handle that just fine. The complications happen when you try to get multiple static IP addresses to work with PPPo?. -- Got some spare cpu cycles ? Join Team Helix or Team Starfire! |
